YouTube Finds – 2 Steam on Java

A while ago I came across these rather interesting videos of steam working in the sugar mills and plantations in Java.  Some very inspiring footage, I’m always surprised that I’ve not seen more models of Javan narrow gauge lines.

I have to confess that I don’t know much about the railways on Java, so I’ll let the videos do the talking.

One modelling resource that’s very interesting to spend some time looking around is the website of the Sugar Cane Railway Modelling Special Interest Group (CaneSIG).  This place is a mine of information on sugar cane railways (admittedly with an Australasian theme, not Javan) and contains some very useful drawings of some all sorts of things from these lines.
